24 The Game Review

Now that I have finished the game I think it is only best if I give a full review of it. As games go it does not have as much playtime as say Grand Thieft Auto or Splintercell but GTA can be fustrating because of the level of difficulty.

24 the game has alot going for it, the voices are those of the real actors, the faces are unmistakable, the music is great and the developers really captured the mood and pace of the show. but it falls down somewhat in the following areas. unlike the show there are no major plot twists that make you gasp, (perhaps the attack on CTU could be counted at one). The voice acting in some areas is not up to its usual standard. To my suprise it is Kiefer who is the worst offended in this case, during many parts his voice seems subdued. Carlos is excellent thoughout. Plot lines, unlike the show which drives forward with three or four story lines, which overlap and are linked to the main thread, the game only concentrates on the main threat story. some minor elements are added and then dropped as the game comes to its conclusion. Like Who was Madsen and how did he know Jack, there are several areas in the game where this is clearly stated but it is never answered.

The overall graphics could be improved upon, they are adequite but not quite up to standard. Then we get to the driving missions, this is ripped straight from the GTA game and in a game of this genre and knowing the type of fans that would buy the game, these missions are poor and take a great deal away from the game.

Story line, the game has a great story line and the plot keeps its pace, there are over 80 minutes of cut scenes, which will tell you that the developers saw the importance of getting the plot across and not falling down on the plot like other games do. e.g. Splintercell, Indiana Jones etc.

To summarize, I enjoyed the game and would recommend it to any 24 fan.
